WEST SACRAMENTO, CA - An elderly woman found dead in West Sacramento Sunday evening was a woman reported missing last Friday, say Davis police.

The victim, 78-year-old Patricia Morganthal, was discovered in the area of Tower Bridge Gateway west of the Ironworks neighborhood, said police Lt. Paul Doroshov said.

Morganthal, who was known to have dementia, was believed to have died hours before she was officially pronounced deceased at 8:26 p.m. Sunday, Doroshov said.

Detectives were investigating the circumstances leading up to Morganthal's death but foul play wasn't suspected, Doroshov said.
