Ribbon-cutting celebrates completion of $27 million in West Sacramento levee improvements

The West Sacramento Area Flood Control Agency, City of West Sacramento and its state and federal partners celebrated the completion of two levee improvement projects valued at $27 million at a ribbon-cutting ceremony.

The projects, known as The Rivers Early Implementation Project and CHP Academy Early Implementation Project, reconstructed over 8,000 feet of levee along the Sacramento Bypass and the Sacramento River North Levee to correct seepage and other deficiencies. Recreational benefits were also included as a part of The Rivers EIP such as the Bryte Park Nature Trail and public access to the Sacramento River waterfront north of Bryte Park.
